The show starts and ends with songs about peace.

I was thinking about world peace and peace of mind when I put this show together.  Mandy Bowden leads off with "Peace Where I used to Have None." Jimmie Dale Gilmore ends the program with "Peace in the Valley."  But John Lennon is in the back of my mind, let’s give world peace a chance!  There’s also a set of music about California, from dreaming to the blues, contrasting recordings from the 1960’s and 2022.

I’m subbing for Diane Hunt on Folk Espresso today. She’s preparing a special folk program celebrating International Women’s Day, which is this Wednesday the 8th.  The program will be aired that morning at 5:30 on KBOO.
