On this episode of the Gap, Tammy and Althea discuss Portland City Commissioner Mingus Mapps' recent suprise budget amendment aimed at stripping city cannabis tax funding from an advocacy org that would reinvest the funds into economic development in the Black community. These were commitments made in 2021, and Mapps is intent on smearing the name and intentions of all those involved (not to mention being way to close to the mic! No need to spit on it at a City Council meeting!). Then we discuss Governor Tina Kotek withholding emergency state housing funds from Portland and Multnomah County for not having their ish together, and the fact that Canby HS has banned 36 books because two parents complained. You know why, but we take you through it anyway.

In the second half of the show we ask our community question, how do you show respect? What do you find disrespectful? Listeners chimed in with a lot of good info and food for thought.

Thank you to everyone who called and listened! We appreciate you.
