This segment will highlight the 2023 Summer Institute Union Women hosted by the University of Oregon Labor Education Research Center.
Join host Tina Turner-Morfitt and Deborah Hall for the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists segment of labor radio. Our guest is Rebekah Whittaker, conference coordinator, who reflects the enthusiasm of a passionate educator. She has a 20-year history of labor activism and is a former rank-file member within Oregon Education Association. The conference is scheduled to take place in Portland, Oregon June 25th -June 28th, 2023,Tonight, we will discuss the details of scheduling this comprehensive conference. In the words of Sister Whittaker, “the conference is designed to empower women to build solidarity in a protected space where you are not required to be brave on your own.”
