Interviews with Matt Bibeau, Hannah Poirier and Eddy Hooker on the 2011 Village Building Convergence

11th Annual VBC transported, transformed and entranced neighbors, families, strangers and friends, putting them together in pro-active ways.  The VBC benches, community kiosks, gardens, street paintings, tile mosaics, art of all shades are the agents of change in neighborhoods across the Portland area.   The 2011 VBC theme, Urban Alchemy echoes with ancient allegory and the architecture of an unpredictable future full of promise and potential payback.  The guests on this morning’s VBC Special are:Hannah Poirier, VBC organizer and permaculture activistEddy Hooker, sustainable builderMatt Bibeau, permaculture practitioner.

It all begins with Pattern Recognition – the art and science of ‘Slow Sight’; taking the time - whatever time is needed – to really see into the essence of the scene.  ‘Slow Sight’ sees space in three dimensions, time in three dimensions and the mystic crossroads where the highest wire in magic’s Big Top tempts sleepwalkers to cross the line…
