'Education': Some Get The Street, Some Get The Wall
Narrowed curricula, teaching to the test and stagnant achievement – just a fraction of the No Child Left Behind legacy. What has been left behind is a barren intellectual landscape, not a drop of learning, no spark of inspiration. Policy makers on the inside, however, are popping the corks on the Good Stuff. Because such is the architecture of consumption-side culture. Americans receive mind-numbing training in stalag-like conditions and are told they are getting an education. The proof of which is that the experience set them back thousands of dollars, and a lifetime of indentured servitude. Sometimes what looks like a ‘Street’ is really a ‘Wall.’ A ‘Wall’ where the buck does indeed stop.
