And what about No Timber?
Way Down Yonder...It's Big Timber v. Smaller Timber. Yes? And what about No Timber? At this point anyone who's paying atttention (And most people are so broke they can't afford to pay attention...) knows that trees are worth more left standing. Nevertheless,
Portland-based American Forest Resource Council, which supports larger logs in the sale, has filed an administrative protest against the auction being conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. The local Southern Oregon Timber Industries Association, says the sale of smaller logs is what local mills need. The bureau has limited potential bidders for the 6.75 million board feet to companies qualified by the Small Business Administration. The “thinning” project was designed to incorporate ideas of forest ecology professors.
The protest by the council involves the sales process and other issues. It was addressed to John Raby, manager of the bureau's Butte Falls Resource Area. He said it wouldn't stop the auction. The Portland group could make a further appeal to a departmental board.
BLM officials say the sale includes “forest restoration thinning” on 479 acres and is part of an “ecological forestry project” covering about 2,200 acres that could ultimately produce 20 million board feet,
“forest restoration thinning”?
“ecological forestry project”?
Get real. A “managed forest” is a tree farm; a tree farm is a privatized forest…kswild.org/about-us

The deal is cut funding for enforcement and all the environmental protection in cascadia won't save a single fish. And do everything in utmost secrecy. Even as it faces court mandates to make measurable progress in fish restoration, the Bonneville Power Administration is proposing to trim spending on wildlife programs due to a tight budget and higher than anticipated spending by the contractors who carry them out.
Bazillion Books for Kids is more than halfway to its goal of donating 1 million new and secondhand books during 2012 to low-income children in Oregon who might not otherwise have any books at home. Now the challenge is to teach them to read. And then of course, it comes down to getting them to read these bazillion books.

Romney’s Time lines are showing: Washington Post timeline: The events in Benghazi and the U.S. reaction
The timeline clearly shows that the statement from US Embassy Cairo criticized by the Romney campaign came four hours before crowds gathered at the embassy in Cairo, and ten hours before gunfire at the consulate in Bengazi. Romney's statement came six hours after the gunfire in Bengazi, and just after the first U.S. death was confirmed.- KBOO
