LIVE BROADCAST from the Indigenous Experience NWCommunity, Family, and Tradition are MEDICINE WITHIN.Scottish Rite Center1512 SW Morrison Street, Portland 4:00 p.m. – Ballroom (FREE to the Public)7:30 p.m. – Auditorium (Ticketed Concert) This year’s Indigenous Experience NW 2013 focuses on the many ways we heal ourselves, our families, and our communities by bringing forward our individual and collective talents, skills, and trades; thus, engaging our own “medicine within”. In the Ballroom at the Scottish Rite Center in Southwest Portland, artists, craftsmen, musicians, storytellers, and speakers are presenting themselves in a way that encourages the general public to interact and learn about local, native culture.  Even native foods from the northwest will be served, further contributing to a truly indigenous experience.  This part of the event is FREE.Then, native musicians Swil Kanim, Cody Blackbird, and Keith Secola with the Brian Harrison Trio will end the day with some healing sounds, performing in the auditorium beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets for the concert are $25/per person with part of the proceeds going to the Traditional Games Clinic 2013, Portland.
