Two local residents discuss gentrification through the lens of Hip Hop.

What is gentrification and how has the Hip Hop scene in Portland been affected by this shift that is forcing the African American community to migrate? We hear the opinions of two Portland residents, passionate of Hip Hop, Chris Riser and Kipp Kruger.

Chris Riser is a husband, father, thinker & middle school teacher in Portland Public Schools. He's passionate about history, hip hop, and what it takes to develop life long learning and a sense of agency in the next generation.

Kipp kruger aka NorthernDraw is a local artist, producer, event organizer, writer and traveler that is focused on social and environmental rights issues.


They'll talk about Hip Hop, the local scene, gentrification, race, class and the future.
