Tribute to Eve's Garden
Tribute to "Eve's Garden"
"Eve's Garden" was a KBOO program from the late 70's until the late '80s. It was hosted by Annabeth "Eve" Parker Jamieson, who died in early January. Eve's Garden informed Portlanders about organic gardening before many people knew about it. "Eve" interviewed knowledgable guests and opened the phone lines to take calls from area gardeners, from beginners to the very experienced.
Eve's daughter, Alexandra Jamieson, and her son, Brendan Jamieson, were both influenced by their mother's work. "Alex" became a vegan chef and was featured in the documentary "Super Size Me." Brendan helped with his mother's radio show as a young child.
KBOO's Jen Davis hosts this tribute to "Eve's Garden" and KBOO with help from Alex and Brendan Jamieson.
Also included in the podcast of this program is the entire interview with Brendan Jamieson and his daughter and an interview with former KBOO staffer Sheila Rubin, who engineered Eve's Garden for several years in the late '70s to early '80s.
