Help welcome first time ever to KBOO Community Radio airwaves Black Parent Initiative

 On the next Ear To The Streets of Portland.....help welcome first time ever to KBOO Community Radio airwaves Alonzo Chadwick of Black Parent Initiative (BPI) to talk about their work to empower Black parents and families by way of education and to mobilize parents and caregivers of Black and multi-ethnic children to ensure they have the resources to move along to be the best that they can be.

We will also speak with a parent that has worked with BPI, the struggles of what it means to be a father in this today, and why BPI is so passionate in the work being done to organize Black families. Their 5th Annual Parent Syposium is September 6th 9am-4pm

Later on in the show.....we will speak with the executive director and pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church, Marcia Taylor, for the Sickle Cell Foundation of Oregon for the 2nd Annual Sickle Cell Walk-a-thon.
