Extreme Strings - Tortured Tones
Part two of a series started last November, host Rich L. brings you more extreme guitar.
We heard some of guitar's adventuresome players (Lee Ranaldo, Thurston Moore, Lydia Lunch, Arto Lindsay, Glenn Branca, Elliot Sharp, to name a few - plus members of NY's then-burgeoning Noise guitar scene), via the 1985 Tellus Cassette Magazine All Guitar issue.
We also heard a crazy Outsider/Free Jazz LP by percussionist David Moss and guitarist Baird Hersey, a rare, homemade cassette from North Carolina loon Eugene Chadbourne, and an extended excerpt from the late Lou Reed and his Metal Machine Trio that was recorded live in 2010.
