       Radiozine presents Highlights from the 4th Annual Happening! 2016  at the Jade-Apano Multicultural Space

     On Sat., Feb. 27th, the Regional Arts and Culture Council and KBOO sponsored  Happening! 2016, at the Jade-Apano Multicultural Center on SE Division at 81st, featuring a 6-person discussion panel of PDX music industry veterans, as well as more experts in later breakout groups, talking how to make it in music while based in Portland,Oregon.

       This Radiozine episode culls 30 hot and quotable minutes from the panel and interviews in an unforgettable day of local music industry talent and wisdom.

Simon Tam      

founder of The Slants, author, entrepreneur, activist, teacher of marketing and the music business

Dr. Portia Sabin    

of The Hissyfits, manager of the label Kill Rock Stars, host of the radio show The Future of What, cultural anthropologist, and board member of A2IM, Pacific NW Chapter of The Recording Academy, and the Rock 'n Roll Camp for Girls. 

Sierra Haager  

Public Display PR, plays in many bands, including her own band called   bed 

Cliff Stanford   aka  Dj Klyph

physical therapist, New Orleans veteran, host of Welcome to the Neighborhood on 107.1FM KZME, producer of the podcast Klyph Notes

Jenny Logan

attorney, co-founder and board president of  XRAY.FM, and bass player in the Summer Cannibals.

Rebecca Miller, moderator

musician, youth advocate, and development professional.  She toured around the world with the band EMA, is currently a songwriter in her own band Top Parts, and teaches music, including at the Rock n' roll Camp for Girls and My voice Muisc. She is the co-producer and re-brander of  Happening! 2016.
