As part of today's Mayday commemoration, a group of workers from the International Longshoreman Workers Union gathered along the Willamette River. They floated 800 flowers on the river, one for each three US soldiers that have been killed in Iraq. That was an excerpt from the action today by the Longshoreman's Union today in Portland, in which the union shut down the port and poured flowers in the river to remember the dead in the Iraq war, and to voice their opposition to that war.
