Climate Activism and the Necessity Defense

Almost all charges were dropped last week against the West Roxbury protesters, who were arrested for blockading construction on the West Roxbury fracked gas pipeline. It was anticipated the protesters would invoke the necessity defense. Jan Haaken speaks with Kelsey Skaggs, Executive Director of the Climate Defense Project, about the use of the necessity defense in climate related civil disobedience cases.
