The First Annual Portland Psychedelic Conference is coming up on October 27th, at the Alberta Abbey in Northeast Portland.

KBOO reporter Sam Bouman sat down today with an organizer and two of the speakers who will be at the conference to find out more.

Doctor Alissa Bazinet is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked for most of her career with veterans experiencing PTSD and substance abuse disorders—she’ll be speaking about MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD.

Doctor Erica Zelfand is naturopathic physician who will be giving a talk on the Medical Uses of Psychedelics more generally and historically.

They were also joined by Jayson Harris with the Portland Psychedelic Society.

A shorter version of this interview (ending around the 14:00 mark) aired on the KBOO Evening News for September 24, 2018 at 5:45pm.
