On November 6 Washington State voters will have a chance to vote on an initiative that would put a fee on the state’s largest polluters, including the oil industry and utilities that have not switched over to clean energy. These fees will be used to protect that state's clean air and water and fund new clean energy infrastructure across the state.
On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with Nick Abraham, communications director for Yes on 1631, about why this initiative is critical for helping Washington State - and the rest of the region - not only meet its carbon reduction goals but also provide a healthy future for the next generation.
Nick Abraham is Communications Director for Yes on 1631. For the last two years he has been the Communications Director for Washington Conservation Voters and Washington Environmental Council, working to get environmental champions like Don Orange, Hilary Franz, and Governor Inslee elected across the state. He previously worked as a researcher for the Northwest's leading sustainability think tank the Sightline Institute and a number of other clean energy and environmental projects.
