The environmental movement needs art. And that's where Signal Fire comes. Signal Fire is an environmental justice and arts nonprofit based in Portland, OR. They connect artists and activists with our remaining wild places to build dynamic and responsive networks of land stewardship and break down settler colonial land narratives in the West. Signal Fire's projects foster resilience, creative energy, and interdisciplinary collaboration, and utilize public lands to advocate for equitable access, and protection of, wild and open places.
On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with Signal Fire's co-director and operations coordinator, Eden Redmond, about how Signal Fire connects artists with the environment and activists working to protect it.
Eden Redmond is a multimedia artist and critical arts writer most interested in artistic production that reckons with economic, material, and mortal mysteries (and usually all three at once).
