From 1963 to 1968, the Yardbirds were a major player in the British rock scene. They helped launch the careers of three of Rock's all-time greatest guitarists - Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. They are cited as pioneers of Psychedelic Rock and Hard Rock, and greatly influenced the development of Punk and Heavy Metal.
Today we'll highlight their music and speak with Yardbirds drummer and co-founder Jim McCarty who will be bringing the latest line-up to the Alberta Rose Theater on Wednesday, February 5th.
