In February, Oregon Governor Kate Brown announced her support for removing four hydroelectric dams on the Lower Snake River, understanding their negaitve impact on endangered salmon and their ability to spawn. In Colorado, similar calls to remove the Colorado River Dam have come from environmentalists, concerned for its own environmental impact. Will Falk, an environmental lawyer, was a part of the first ever federal lawsuit seeking to guarantee the rights of the river and its ecosystem by granting it personhood.

Falk is also author of the book "How Dams Fall," and spoke with KBOO's Suzanne LaGrande about the lawsuit, the aftermath and where we are now.
