Part 1:Honduran Coup Rally, June 29th

Sunday morning, Honduran President, Manuel “Mel” Zelaya was arrested at his residence by 200 soldiers and led to an air force base, where he was put on a plane to Costa Rica.

Today, a rally in front of the Federal building in downtown Portland condemned the military coup in Honduras this weekend. Organised by the Portland-Central American Solidarity Committee, the rally had roughly 30 attendees. Speeches were given by represenatatives from the Portland-Central American Solidarity Committee and the School of the Americas Watch and local Honduran immigrant and former PCASC board member, Angie Mejia.
