Please join us on Monday, November 29th at 6:30 pm for Prison Pipeline on KBOO Community Radio as we talk with Damita Bishop, Kalyn Womak and Angie Lanier about the case for Matthew Baker Jr.

Matthew Baker Jr. is an innocent man who has spent five years in jail without a trial for a crime he didn't commit.  Baker is facing a possible death sentence in Georgia because he was a black man sitting in a car.  In 2016, in Henry County, Georgia - a man named Jacob Kosky killed four people at a party.  Kosky has schizophrenia and is white and has already been tried and convicted for the murders and sentenced to life in prison.  Baker, who was a passenger in the vehicle Kosky was driving, and had no prior knowledge of Kosky's actions and did not materially participate in any way in Kosky's actions has been held in jail for five years without trial and is facing the death penalty.  In addition to Baker, Kosky had three other white passengers in his vehicle at the time of the murder who did not face similar charges.
