New Workers’ Center & Bus Transfer Campaign
A new Workers’ Center for residents of Rockwood and Gresham is called Neighborhoods United (Vecinos Unidos), All in One Community Worker’s Center. Sponsored by We Are Oregon, the center aims to help working families in east county organize against wage theft & evictions, for jobs & food access, for youth, art, music and story telling. Co-host Jamie Partridge interviews one of the center’s founders.
In the second half of the show, co-host John Walsh talks with OPAL Environmental Justice Oregon about Bus Riders Unite! and their current campaign for a more fair bus transfer policy on TriMet.
