International Law Professor Richard Falk join Wael and Will ...

This week, hosts Will and Wael welcome Princeton Professor Emeritus of International Law, Richard Falk, for a live interview to discuss the economic and moral costs of the Palestine-Israel conflict, and the role of international law in the struggle to bring a just peace to the region.  Richard Falk has been appointed to two UN positions serving in the Palestinian territories.

Comments

While I am familiar with the history and outrageous conditions for Palestinians in the OT, I learned much from Professor Falk’s careful explanation of legal issues (“dual legal system”) and deprivation of international legal protections for Palestinians, and deprivation under Israel law. I was particularly pleased that Professor Falk addressed the hypocritical chestnut that Israel is “the only democracy in the Middle East.” That includes Dr. Falk’s reply to a question about parallels (and lack of parallels) between the US civil rights movement and the situation of Palestinians.
Good work Wael and Will. As always, thank you.
