Rahab's Sisters offer RADICAL HOSPITALITY to vulnerable and exploited women in Portland
This Friday on Bread and Roses we welcome Rahab's Sisters, a Portland based organization that serves "women of all faiths and women of no faith," every Friday from 7pm to 10pm at Saints Peter and Paul Episcopal Church on Southeast 82nd Avenue, "offering a warm safe environment with food, hot coffee, conversation, health items, and--where appropriate--prayer." Rahab's Sisters "strives to give "friendly welcome" to those who would otherwise be on the streets and in danger."
They envision a city where all women are safe from physical and sexual exploitation.
Mary Dettmann, President of Rahab's Board of Directors and Crystal Kordowski, volunteer and activist for Rahab's Sisters will join us live in the studio to discuss their services, their role in the community and an up-coming fundraising comedy show.
