New Mexico legislators discuss heroin maintenance
The New Mexico State Legislature is currently between sessions. They are still at work however, with several committees holding intersessional hearings for informational purposes and to potentially shape future policies. On Friday October 28, the state's Legislative Health and Human Services Committee and the Courts, Corrections, and Justice Committee, both of which are House-Senate joint committees, met together to talk about opiate policies, including prescription monitoring, alternative healthcare, and addiction treatment. On this week's show, we listen to part of their discussion on medication-assisted treatment.
