I am personally inviting you to the Threshold Shift Audio Party happening Monday, November 6 from 630-800 PM at the KBOO Studios on 20 SE 8th Ave. Portland, OR 97214.
We'll be celebrating all things audio including the wrap of the Threshold Shift Sound Artist in Residency project. You'll have a chance to meet the artist as well as folks at the KBOO Studios who've helped make it possible. We're also going to launch the Portland chapter of the Listening Lounge. I've been an at-large member of the founding DC chapter for years and have been wanting to start a Portland version since I came back home to the region. The Listening Lounge is an informal audio collective of sound enthusiasts that meets monthly in members' living rooms to have a potluck and share audio that catches our ears, maybe doesn't have a project that fits it yet, or could use a fresh listen. Lounge members include everyone from audio recording and radio professionals, producers, composers, sound collectors, music-makers, instrument constructors, inventors, meditative listeners, poets, editors, teachers, students, improvisers, coders, circuit benders, archivists, storytellers, dancers, MCs--and you? So feel free to bring friends, ideas, and your enthusiasm for sound. Light refreshments will be provided and a couple listening stations will be available for people to catch any episodes of Threshold Shift they may have missed.
