Jan Haaken talks with Emily Golden-Fields, Olivia Pace, and Sahar Yarjani Muranovic about Universal Preschool Now!, a coalition that gathered over 32,000 signatures to put universal preschool on the ballot. The measure before voters now is 26-214, Preschool For All. The three guests for the roundtable are organizers for the campaign. They discuss what passage would mean for those working and living at the intersections of race, gender and economic inequality. Emily Golden-Fields (she/her) is an educator, mother, and member of Portland DSA. Olivia Pace (she/her) is a Black, biracial, queer organizer, educator, speaker and writer. Sahar Yarjani Muranovic (she/they) is a first-generation Iranian-American immigrant and the current Vice Chair of the David Douglas School Board.
