Guitarist Howard Wade shares his traditional fingerstyle blues, folk and ragtime, live.

Howard Wade plays live, Friday April 1st on KBOO's Movin' On, Friday April 1, noon to 1:30. Laurie Sonnenfeld hosts.

Howard Wade, a guitarist of nearly half a century, shares his traditional fingerstyle blues, folk and ragtime. His influences include Rev. Gary Davis, Misssissippi John Hurt and Jorma Kaukonen. "The music we make tells the story of America. It's not the story we were told in school. ... It carries the hope, despair, love, hate, triumphs and tragedies of us all. It's our job as musicians to honor the story and carry it forward." --from www.HowardWade.com.

Howard performs Friday night April 1st at Artichoke Music's Friday coffeehouse. For those of you who don’t know, Artichoke is a non-profit dedicated to acoustic music. They have a store, offer workshops and lessons and have a live performance space. It’s a wonderful place holding 30 or 40 people. They serve beer, wine, tea, coffee and sweets. On Fridays they hold what they call their Friday Night Café, a showcase of 5 or 6 up and coming performers.
