Fernando and his band perform Live on Drinking From Puddles on 10/21/15 !!
Longtime Portland Muscian/Songwriter Fernando (Viciconte) has made a triumphant return to both the stage and the studio surrounding his first new release in many years, Leave The Radio On, which was completed thanks to a dare from highly respected local musical virtuoso Peter Buck (famously of R.E.M.) whom he had run into at KBOO's neighbor The Doug Fir Lounge. PB told him (paraphrasing) "You get it together and write a new album, and I will play on it" (and does). The fantastic result (which also features a long list of notable local musicians in addition to Peter Buck) has already gotten heavy play on this program, KBOO and other other like-minded stations everywhere. Reviewers are pleased as well:

"Only with the most sublime singer/songwriters, such as Fernando, can the artist achieve a true, observable measure of grace in his music, the kind that genuinly goes beyond the listener's ears to his core. This is not only achieved a handful of times throughout Fernando's career but in several of the songs on Leave the Radio On."

"As is to be expected(Leave the Radio On), it's an engrossing collection of experimental, imaginative rock and folk, with flame tinged edges of 60's garage and American-style psychedelia"
