The U N will be holding a meeting with over forty leading institutional investors managing over 1.75 trillion dollars in assets to discuss the coming problems with climate change. Among them will be Oregon State Treasurer Randall Edwards. An outline for the investor commitments to be discussed at the summit was included in a news release sent out by the state treasurer’s office. Among the items was a commitment to requiring tougher scrutiny about carbon-intensive investments that may pose long-term financial risks. KBOO’s Michael Ianello spoke with Treasurer Edwards about the summit and the proposed L-N-G storage facility on the Columbia River.
