Columbia Riverkeeper is suing the Environmental Protection Agency for neglecting the decline of the salmon population in the Columbia and Snake Rivers. The decline is caused by temperature pollution, defined as a raise in temperatures partly influenced by climate change and local dams.
They have the distinction of being the first group in the nation tio sue the EPA under its new director, Scott Pruitt, the former Attorney General of Oklahoma who has spent much of his career suing the EPA himself on behalf of fossil fuel interests in his home state.
