It’s a Portland-based startup with the goal of teaching teachers how they can teach kids to program.

The founder of the online Blackbird School, Ness Blackbird, is making programming accessible in rural areas and for minorities across Oregon. Using easy and interactive tools to include both students and teachers, Blackbird School is trying to make what was once a solitary activity for a few into an approachable and fun way to learn for us all.

KBOO’s Nat Moon spoke with Ness Blackbird about their work in spreading computer programming knowledge.
