Me and my family left Portland last year and moved to a smaller town in another state, for the very reason of rising rent. I felt sad to go but I had no other choice. I really wish I could move back to my favorite city, but it would take two or three miracles for that to happen. A high-paying job would be great, but it cannot pay a studio-apartment rent -- that one miracle is not enough to help. (And Oregon is called a "liberal state"?)
