Mayan and indigenous music of Mexico, recordings from the 1950's and early 1970's

Spiritual indigenous music from Mexico. Some of these documents were recorded by Henrietta Urchenko and Laura Boulton. Originally released in the Folkways Records label, and later re-issued by Mississippi Records, along with some recordings by the Indigenous National Institure of Mexico and the National Institute of History and Anthropology.

Music from the states of Oaxaca, Yucatan, Chiapas, Sonora, North Baja California, Michoacan, Campeche, playing ethnic instruments and singing on their native language.
