We will start tonight's show with Joel Thompson's "The Seven Last Words of the Unarmed," a multi-movement choral work that uses the last words of seven black men who have been murdered by authorities. Though written four years ago, the peice is just as relavant today with George Floyd's death and the protests that have followed it. The rest of the show will continue in that vein as we listen to experimental music from other black American composers and musicians: Some of the people we will hear: Matana Roberts, Nicole Mitchell, Moor Mother, Sonny & Linda Sharrock, Jessie Montgomery, Chanda Darcy, Elsabeth A Baker, Pamela Z, and Julius Eastman.
