Following my months-long absence, it seems fitting to revisit my 'Long Time Gone' special, sharing some of the most thrilling moments across thousands of live Grateful Dead shows.
For the unfamiliar, in this special, I'm featuring the songs performed live in concert by The Grateful Dead, with the longest gaps between consecutive performances. I'll play the bookends of that gap for you. To create the list of songs for this series, I culled through three different extensively researched song lists. Everywhere possible, I also created partial matrix recordings of each track and otherwise have done everything I could to make what you'll hear 'just exactly perfect.' And yet 'audiens cave.'
As this series is rounding the last corner, all songs in today's broadcast will have a performance gap of at least 1100 shows, averaging just over 17 years!
