International Women's Day (March 8th) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women's Day is a national holiday.
The first International Women's Day event was run in 1911, based on suffragettes campaigning for women's right to vote. International Women's Day honors the work of the suffragettes and feminists, celebrates Women's success, and reminds us of inequities that still need to be addressed.
KBOO is celebrating International Women's Day as part of our All Thrills No Frills special programming campaign by bringing you a series of special programs throughout the Month created by, for, and about women!
For 2023's edition of International Women's Day, On Wednesday, March 8th, We'll be broadcasting Women centered content for a full 24 hours, starting at 12am! Check out the individual specials below!
